- Accumulator
- A bet that combines multiple selections into one wager, with winnings rolling over after each win.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap given to a team to level the playing field, using whole or half numbers to eliminate the draw option.
- Bankroll Management
- The practice of setting and sticking to a budget for betting, dividing funds into smaller units to limit risk.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or limiting a loss.
- Closing Line
- The final odds offered just before an event starts; beating the closing line indicates a profitable bet.
- Decimal Odds
- A way to express odds as a single number, where the total payout including the stake is calculated by multiplying the stake by the decimal value.
- Edge
- An advantage a bettor has over the bookmaker, often identified through analysis or odds discrepancies.
- Fractional Odds
- A traditional odds format shown as a fraction, where the numerator indicates profit and the denominator indicates the stake needed.
- Futures Bet
- A bet placed on an outcome that will be decided later, such as which team will win the tournament.
- In-Play Betting
- Placing a bet on a match while it is ongoing, with odds that update as the action unfolds.
- Juice
- The commission or fee a bookmaker adds to the odds, also called vig, which reduces payouts.
- Moneyline
- A straight bet on which team will win a match, with odds adjusted for each side.
- Moneyline Odds
- Odds expressed as a positive or negative number, indicating how much you must stake or how much you can win on a given outcome.
- Odds
- The chance that a particular outcome will happen, shown as numbers that determine how much you can win if your bet is correct.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of points, goals, or other metrics in a match will be higher or lower than a set figure.
- Parlay
- A single bet that links two or more selections; all must win for the bet to pay out, offering higher odds.
- Point Spread
- A margin set by oddsmakers that the favored team must win by for a bet on them to pay out.
- Prop Bet
- A wager on a specific event within a match, such as which player scores first, separate from the final result.
- Public Money
- The portion of bets placed by recreational bettors, often influencing line movement.
- Steam Move
- A rapid shift in odds caused by heavy betting action, signaling where most money is being placed.
- System Bet

- Unit
- A standard amount of money used to size bets, usually a fraction of your total bankroll.
- Value Bet
